New Beginning - Southern Gospel / Contemporary / Inspirational

Derek, Shawn, Tiffany, Jeannie, Jennifer & Chris found themselves singing Christmas carols together at their church's Christmas program. A few months later, the six young men and women were singing in churches and christian concerts throughout Virginia. After an outdoor concert on April 26, 1997 near Eden, North Carolina, the group embraced a scripture verse (II Corinthians 5:17), and subsequently designated the group name - New Beginning. That evening the group realized that it was the LORD who had re-united them after their college graduations to follow Him in service.

Continuing to sing HIS praises through the summer, the LORD blessed the group with an original arrangement of hymns -"The Blood." This acapella medley was compiled by the group in the fall of '97. On November 1st, the LORD allowed New Beginning to perform the song to over 10,000 audience members at the LJVM Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. New Beginning was continually blessed in 1998 and 1999, singing throughout Virginia and the Carolinas.

New Beginning has seen many changes over the last five years including the addition of three children (two to Chris & Jennifer; one to Jeannie and her husband David) as well as the release of their second album, "Light of The World", recorded in February of 2003. The group continues to seek the will of the LORD in their growth both spiritualy and artisticly as they continue to sing praises to Him and spread the good news Gospel of Jesus Christ.
